SMARTSystemMenu description:
SMARTSystemMenu Overview:
SMARTSystemMenu, or SM for short, is an application that empowers users with the ability to quickly manage windows and utilize them to their maximum potential. From resizing windows, full-screen mode, minimizing to tray, a new window tab, to virtual keyboard, the utility has it all. You can read about it and find out what's it all about.
More detailed description:
Window management is not as easy as it seems. One thing you need to keep in mind is the fact that Windows let you manipulate most functions and regions, but it's not perfect. If you need to maximize a window, you're forced to mouse over to the button on the right, minimizing it to the taskbar by right-clicking it, then minimize the application and finally restore by the default way of doing it.
To avoid such a hassle, you can use SMARTSystemMenu, which comes as a simple and easy-to-use application. The application is not complicated at all, but offers a rich set of features and functions. With a little learning, you can benefit from it to minimize and maximize windows as you like, manipulate window borders, change window style, add a tab to the title bar, as well as use a variety of virtual keyboard functions.

These commands may be defined and stored in an external file or they can be defined inline. In addition, the editor offers a text editor of its own and allows you to do spell checking, adding to the list of keywords or the definition of macros, while you work. The Editor supports all the standard UNIX commands and keywords, and can be used on a range of platforms, including Solaris, Irix, SVR, SunOS, OS/2, DOS, Linux and Windows. It also supports the common extensions to the standard UNIX or DOS environment such as Emacs, Vim, vi, JEE, J++, C++, Python, Java, Tcl, M4, C5, GOS, GNU, CPAN, Info, Make, perl, C and Shell. In addition, it supports all the common filesystems.
Development is sponsored by the North South Institute and is released in two forms - the editor only, and the editor plus a tutorial and reference manual.

How to build your own XPS Writer

Building a self-contained XPS document has never been so easy. All you need is an XPS Writer and a single standard.NET Framework 4.0 application with a custom DocumentViewer.

The DocumentViewer allows you to use a built-in library to convert documents to XPS. It can also open Word, Excel, PDF and HTML files, but with some limitations. For instance, it cannot open PPTX files. It will also split PPTX files when opening them.

Since Microsoft has licensed the.NET Framework 4.0, you can build any XPS Writer you want. For example, the free one from the Microsoft.Xps.Writer package is a great way to create self-contained documents. If you want a more advanced one, you can look into the Microsoft.Xps.Writer.Light package, which contains a lot of useful features.

However, the Microsoft.Xps.Writer.Light package is only available for WPF applications. If you don’t have any WPF knowledge, you can download the Microsoft.Xps.Writer package and add it to any standard.NET Framework 4.0 application.

I can’t say that I would recommend this approach for non-programmers, since it requires basic knowledge of WPF. If you are a developer and don’t want to learn about WPF, you can start with the Microsoft.Xps.Writer.Light package and remove the WPF parts one
